Bradenton, Florida is located along the Manatee River, just south of Tampa. Its nickname is the “Friendly City”, and is also known as the birthplace of horse surfing! It was famous for the oldest manatee “Snooty” who resided at the Parker Manatee Aquarium, and is home to beautiful beaches.
You don’t want to miss the newly expanded downtown Riverwalk, an outdoor gathering place. It overlooks the Manatee River, is a 1.5-mile, ADA-accessible park spanning downtown with many features. Features include sitting areas, picturesque views, and information centers, a skate park, volleyball area, splash pad, tidal discovery zone, fishing pier, tower plaza, and amphitheater.
Bradenton has parks and preservers to explore giving the Old Florida feel leaving you with a breath of fresh air. Robinson Preserve is one of the largest, and is expanding with many walking/biking paths, and even kayaking/paddleboard access. It’s beautiful, and has a lookout tower where the Sunshine Skyway Bridge across the bay can be viewed on a clear day. DeSoto Memorial Park is another great place to visit full of history which surrounds the city of Bradenton.

Downtown Bradenton is quaint and full of cute restaurants and shops, as well as the the Village of the Arts, which is a working artist’s community, a place you don’t want to miss out on!
