Nokomis, Florida is a town located along the Gulf Coast, just North of Venice and South of Osprey . It has a beautiful beach, and the water is accessible through Casey Key, and Nokomis Public Beach. The beach is the oldest public beach in all of Sarasota County.

Don’t miss out on the beauty that is Nokomis Public Beach. As mentioned above, it’s the oldest in Sarasota County. It boats a beautiful beach, swimming, has lifeguards, a boardwalk, canoe/kayak launch as well as a boat ramp and dock. It also has picnic shelters, a playground, volleyball areas, and restrooms.

Nokomis is located along the famous Legacy Trail which opened in 2008 along the Sarasota County area’s historic rail corridor. The Legacy Trail is open from dawn to dusk with the rules for using the trail posted at various locations as well as at each trailhead entrance point. It’s perfect for biking, and walking alike. There are also many walking trails along the beach equipped with boardwalks over the dunes.

The Jetty can be used for fishing. It gets busy on the weekends, so arrive early for the best spot. It’s also the perfect spot to watch boats cruising through the channel. If you’re a nature lover, you’ll see dolphins and manatees from time to time as well as plenty of pelicans diving for fish!
