Osprey, Florida is located in Sarasota County, just south of Sarasota. Osprey is only just over 6 miles in diameter. It is one of the best places to live in Florida. It has a nice suburban feeling, and many of the people who live here are home owners, and residents.

Explore Osprey

While Osprey doesn’t have its own beaches, the closest beaches are those on Casey Key, just over the cause way on Nokomis, or in Siesta. There are many private beaches though. There is some shopping at Osprey Village and the Shops at Casey Key.

Osprey has the wonderful Oscar Scherer State Park. This state park is one of the only areas you can view the Florida scrub-jays. The park also features a wide variety of other birds and animals. It also features a wide array of both land and water based areas for activities such as kayak and canoeing, or walking, running, or biking. You can also fish or swim.

Food and Drink

Tamiami Trail is full of plenty of great restaurants where you can find anything from fresh seafood dinners and grouper sandwiches, sports bar restaurants to fine dining or even pizza in Osprey. But one of the most recognized would be the Casey Key Fish house. What’s better than dining on the water?
